This blog is a more personal one for me. I want to get better about writing memories down before the details escape me. One of these days I will go back and write Nash and LeeAnn’s birth story... maybe before they go to college. In the meantime, I’ll start with the story of how our newest addition to the Burchett family came to be.
Read MoreAlly is such a gem. I have thoroughly enjoyed walking alongside her during this season of her life. Daniel is absolutely hilarious and so down to earth! He managed to keep us on our toes all day and kept us guessing whether or not he was kidding or serious. (Like when he told us he was highly allergic to sunflowers…) The overall vibe from the very beginning of the day was calm, relaxed and super light-hearted which always makes the flow of a wedding day seamless.
Read MorePersonal branding has always been a passion of ours, but full-on branding sessions can be a huge investment. Once you have a personal branding session, it can be a challenge to use those same images for years and years to come. It is so important to stay current on your headshots and other images throughout the year, so I have started to offer headshot marathon days!
Read MoreWhat a FUN night that I had with Genna and Justin! I will start off by saying this couple is pure #goals. Seriously - two of the cutest people ever. They both live in Austin, TX for their jobs but will be returning to Virginia for their wedding this coming November. I was over the moon when they were able to make the trip to Virginia to finalize weddings plans and fit in an engagement session.
Read MoreHot, Humid and the middle of July. Although those three things describe Leanne and Seth’s wedding day, the picturesque views at their ceremony, laughter from friends and family, and joy definitely outshined them all.
Read MoreSometimes the best things are the spur of the moment things. I received an email last week from Megan inquiring about photographing her sister’s surprise proposal. I didn’t have much back story, but I knew I wanted to be a part of this milestone.
Read MoreNash Easton. I cannot believe that you are our’s to raise. If we had to think of a few words to describe your personality, we would choose: strong willed, sensitive, energetic, hard-working and smart - sooo smart!
Read MoreI loved getting to know these two during their session. Both live and work in Northern Virginia. Jenna is local to Richmond and so she really wanted to have her wedding back “at home.” Amber Grove is only a couple miles from the neighborhood that she grew up in. It was the perfect choice.
Read MoreThe new date was set. Hali said this date was it, no matter what. These two love birds were officially going to tie the knot on June 26th...and they did! Although this was not the original wedding that she had planned, it was absolute perfection. I am not kidding. Everything was perfect down to the tiniest of details.
Read MoreThey knew from the beginning stages of their wedding planning that they wanted to get married in the mountains. There are a million different places that people consider the “mountains,” but these two NAILED it and could not have picked a more gorgeous location if they tried.
Read MoreThese two tied the knot at Whispering Pine Plantation in Amelia, Virginia. We were sounded by incredible pine trees, countless acres of corn fields and a stunning plantation home. Her sunflower details, breakfast menu and family that love them more than anything were the perfect touches to add to their big day.
Read MoreJacob and Holly are genuinely in love with one another and their smiles and laughter were contagious. You would think that they were in front of a camera for a living. I could seriously go on and on about how much I loved our time together, but I’ll let you get to the pictures now. Holly and Jacob - I am counting down the days until your October wedding!

Read MoreFor those of you who don’t know, my husband and I are a wedding photography team. Although it may seem like I (Nicole) am the face of Burchett Photography the majority of the time, Nathan is a huge part of what makes our business successful.
Read MoreEveryone would most likely agree that the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a wedding is a beautiful white dress. However, everyone would also agree that it takes a lot more to have a wedding. As a photographer, it is my job to capture moments from your wedding day that will not only hang above your fireplace, but are able to help you retell the entire day. This is why we spend time capturing all of the little details.
Read MoreSpring 2020 seems to have arrived a few weeks early and I couldn’t be more here for it. I got to take advantage of the delightful, warm, March weather and kick off my Spring Senior season with the most gorgeous gal, Emily.
Read MoreLaughter, a few giggles, and more laughter. That pretty much sums up my time with Matt and Brooke. What an incredibly fun couple. We had been planning a fall Maymont session for a couple months now and I was so excited about it. Fall finally kicked in here in Virginia, and the weather was to die for. The two of them traveled to Richmond for their session with their two children, Chloe and Andrew.
Read MoreFall is their favorite time of year so we put off their engagement session until the leaves and weather were just right and BOY it did not disappoint. We laughed, talked, rode around on a gator and took pictures in front of amazing mountain views. I am seriously obsessed with their pictures. They are what fall dreams are made of.
