Meet Nathan!

For those of you who don’t know, my husband and I are a wedding photography team. Although it may seem like I (Nicole) am the face of Burchett Photography the majority of the time, Nathan is a huge part of what makes our business successful. The name “Burchett” Photography is even thanks to him (I did take his name when we got married, after all).

Nathan saw the vision of our business before it even began. To be honest, I was hesitant to jump into pursuing a photography business but Nathan could visualize the concept we wanted and he had the drive to encourage me to pursue our dream. When we first started talking about it, I felt like everyone was picking up a camera and calling themselves a photographer. How would we stand out - not to mention the fact that I felt like I had no experience! Thanks to Nathan’s persistence we launched Burchett Photography in 2016 and he was the lead photographer at our first wedding in May 2017. 

In every aspect of life, Nathan is a detailed-oriented person. He strives to find the tiny details that can be perfected, while I am more of a big-picture type of gal. This is what helps our partnership thrive. Additionally, I am an extrovert and he is an introvert. When Nathan does talk, he is very genuine and often hilarious! He brings a lot of balance to my personality and we are definitely a better business because of it.

In addition to helping me shoot weddings, Nathan is also great for bouncing off ideas. He is always 100% honest and says what he thinks - sometimes whether I like it or not! In 2018, Nathan’s role in our business became a little more behind-the-scenes due to his demanding job and the birth of our little princess. Since then, Nathan has been able to spend more time with the kids thanks to a career change. He has been able to stay home at times and be Super Dad while Mommy is out shooting portrait sessions. It works so well and we love it.

On a personal note, Nathan loves to “piddle”. You can always find him doing something in the yard. He has always been a hard worker and usually pushes himself to the point of exhaustion, like when he mows our steep front yard in 100 degree weather in the summer. He comes from a large family and was raised well which has helped shape him into the amazing father he is. You can tell that he loves our kids more than anything, and I’m so grateful for who he is!

Here are some fun facts about Nathan:

-He loves old school country music

-He starts every day with a Coca-Cola

-His dream is to live on a lot of land with 4-wheelers and a lab in every color (yellow, chocolate and black)

-He’s a talented singer (he sings in the church choir)

-He has one of the most genuine laughs you will ever hear
