The Massey wedding day has been a long time coming! I met Chad and Hali in 2018 at their engagement session in Historic Petersburg. They had pretty much settled on a Fall 2019 date. Unfortunately, that date ended up not working out and they were officially booked for April 2020. Well...anyone you know in the wedding industry can attest that Spring 2020 did not shape up as originally planned and Chad and Hali had to move their wedding date once again. This (understandably so) was frustrating and heart breaking for the two of them. However, Hali had the absolute BEST attitude about it and was able to look at it from every positive angle. (Check out her blog she wrote to brides dealing with COVID-19 reschedules - you’ll see just what I am talking about!!)
.
The new date was set. Hali said this date was it, no matter what. These two love birds were officially going to tie the knot on June 26th...and they did! Although this was not the original wedding that she had planned, it was absolute perfection. I am not kidding. Everything was perfect down to the tiniest of details.
.
The day started at Hali's sister, Kelsea’s house. Hali’s bridesmaids were amazing! They literally made you laugh the entire time and were so fun to be around. They put on their final touches, laughed, popped some champagne, and got dressed before heading to the ceremony. The guys were just as cool! Chad and his groomsmen were at Chad and Hali’s new house getting ready before the official “I do’s.”
.
Chad and Hali were originally set to get married at Tredegar Ironworks and Civil War Museum. Given the circumstances of everything going on with COVID-19, they needed a new location. But Tredegar is so stunning and we knew that some of the pictures had to be taken there given it’s original sentiment and gorgeous architecture.
.
The new ceremony location was at Richmond’s Libby Hill Park in Church Hill. They were surrounded by their closest 70 friends and family. The ceremony was performed by Chad’s uncle and brought the most perfect amount of uniqueness to their vows.
.
After the “I do’s” were officially sealed by a kiss, we took stunning bride and groom portraits in Libby Hill as well.
.
This wedding had one of the greatest and most memorable receptions of all time. Everyone headed back to Hali’s sisters house for the reception. The food was out-of-this-world delicious and catered by Right on Time Mobile Diner. Let me just say...mashed potato bar...Ok - I’ll leave it at that.
.
The night was perfectly sealed up with special dances and tear jerking speeches.. I wish these two nothing but the best.
