The Matherly Wedding
This wedding was straight out of a style shoot mood board. But why am I even saying that?! I shouldn’t have expected any less from the stunning bride and lifelong friend, Cara. I have been fortunate enough to know Cara since we were little and grew up in church together. Over the past few years of my business, I have called on Cara and Christian to model for me because well...just look at them! Photographing their wedding was truly such an honor and so much fun.
When Cara shared her desire for a small-intimate wedding at her childhood home, I knew it would be lovely - but my expectations were blown out of the water. The pretty tablescapes, bistro lights, cozy cocktail hour, and gorgeous signage were all literal perfection.
As I arrived, Cara was putting final touches on her hair and makeup. Christian was hanging with the guys and having a great time. The vibe was low stress and high laughter. Cara slipped into her beautiful wedding dress (*oh - and it had pockets!*) and the night began.
The ceremony was held in the front of the home, followed by a fun cocktail hour in the backyard. We were able to sneak away for some bride and groom portraits while the guests sipped on wine and munched on delicious charcuterie boards. There was a really cool reception table awaiting the guests. The long table was surrounded by friends and family all laughing and enjoying fellowship with one another. This is what weddings and celebrations are really about.
The guest celebrated Christian and Cara with sparklers to end the evening. This day couldn’t have gone better.
