I have been looking forward to Brandon and Chelsea’s wedding since the moment we first met in Panera over a year ago. I was connected with this amazing couple by a vendor friend, MV Ness of Little Cotton Events. It was basically a match made in heaven -- these two people have been some of the most supportive, trusting and kind people I’ve ever met.
Brandon and Chelsea are originally from Michigan, but Brandon’s job as an air traffic controller brought them to Richmond. And boy, am I so glad it did.
They knew from the beginning stages of their wedding planning that they wanted to get married in the mountains. There are a million different places that people consider the “mountains,” but these two NAILED it and could not have picked a more gorgeous location if they tried.
Brandon and Chelsea tied the knot at Bold Rock Hard Cidery in Nellysford, VA. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, plans were definitely shaken. All of their friends and family are from their home state of Michigan so travel was one of several issues. Because of this, they decided to make the best of this situation and get married TWO TIMES. In the words of Chelsea, “How many brides get to dress up in their wedding dress twice?” They got married this past weekend with their closest family surrounding them and they will celebrate with everyone in September. The attitude that Chelsea has had during this entire wedding planning process just shows what type of person she is - absolutely incredible.
The big day started with Chelsea getting ready with her mom and sister, Nichole. While they were getting ready, I snapped some pictures of the most stunning invitation suite that I had ever seen.
We began our portrait time by Chelsea and her Dad sharing they most special father-daughter “first look.” Yes…my eyes were leaking behind my camera. Finally, Brandon suited up and the two of us headed toward the “first look” location. It was a beautiful field surrounded by the most majestic mountains. Not only were the views breathtaking, but Brandon’s excitement when seeing his bride for the first time was utterly priceless (check out the pictures).
The family then headed to the same location to watch them officially tie the knot. They had such a special ceremony that everyone was able to participate in.
Following the ceremony, the family celebrated together with none other than Bold Rock Hard Cider and some delicious food. Their time together could not have been any more meaningful or memorable....and the best part...we get to do it AGAIN in September with ALL of their friends and family!!!
*Check out their engagement session in this exact location from October 2019!
