When I found out that I was pregnant, one of the first things that came to mind was Daniel and Ally’s wedding. I knew that this wedding would be less than a week from my due date, and I wanted SO badly to be a part of Ally and Daniel’s wedding day. I ended up taking the chance and with lots (and lots) of prayer, I made it! FOUR days from giving birth, but I made it - and it was PERFECTION.
Ally is such a gem. I have thoroughly enjoyed walking alongside her during this season of her life. Daniel is absolutely hilarious and so down to earth! He managed to keep us on our toes all day and kept us guessing whether or not he was kidding or serious. (Like when he told us he was highly allergic to sunflowers…) The overall vibe from the very beginning of the day was calm, relaxed and super light-hearted which always makes the flow of a wedding day seamless.
They tied the knot at one of our favorite venues, Lakeside at Welch Estate, in Powhatan, Virginia. The weather had been calling for storms and downpours all day long but, thankfully, that wasn’t the case. They had such a special and intimate first look right before the ceremony. It was misty and wet outside, so we went with their PLAN B ceremony location and it was honestly so perfect. The warm, loving feeling of their friends and family surrounding them was so special.
Daniel and Ally both wrote their own vows (something I really wish I could have been able to do, but I’m such a basket case I would have never made it through!). The Lord’s presence in their ceremony and throughout the entire day was so evident.
The reception filled with laughter, dancing and hugs did not disappoint and really displayed the love that all of their friends and family have for them. Their night was capped off by a glowstick exit and lots of cheers from the ones that mean the most.
Daniel and Ally’s big day was truly an honor to be a part of, and I know this is just the start of something incredible.
