With a huge rainstorm in the forecast, I had been watching the weather all week leading up to Matt and Natalie’s engagement session. Thankfully, the rain decided to hold off for us and we were able to get a beautiful and DRY engagement session in the perfect amount of time we needed.
I have known Matt since before I can even remember. He’s the older brother of one of my best friends so he was always around growing up. Matt and Natalie got engaged back in November, and when they asked us to photograph their wedding, I was thrilled, honored and beyond excited. Natalie is such a sweet and kind soul with a calm spirit, and I loved getting to know her more during our time together.
Matt and Natalie will be getting married in October 2019 at the Reserve in the Highlands, so what better choice than to do their engagement pictures there. This is also my home neighborhood, so luckily for me…I had a few spots ideas up my sleeve throughout our community.
We started on a gorgeous nature trail. I love this area because when the weather is just right, it has a whimsical feel to it. Some days you’ll even catch a deer or two drinking from the creek! Next we headed over to the lake. As I was taking their pictures, I couldn’t help but think about what a perfect pair these two are. Their genuine bond and love for each other is so inspiring. We ended our time together at a secret spot that is tucked back in the middle of nowhere. The tall grass, overgrown trees and overall natural look was utter perfection.
These are two very special people. Natalie is a natural beauty and such a ray of sunshine. Matt is always full of jokes and has a gift to make anyone smile and feel comfortable. I just know their wedding is going to be amazing and it can’t come soon enough!
