This past weekend, Brenden and Kaitie tied the knot in Hanover County, VA at Hanover Tavern. When I first met these two about a year ago, I felt an immediate connection, almost as if we’d been friends forever. Kaitie is so personable and sweet, and Brenden (a fellow Lancer) is one hilarious guy! From the moment we met, I knew that their big day was going to be an utter blast.
The weather that day could not have been better. It had been raining for what felt like an eternity in Virginia, but when their wedding day came around there was not a cloud in the sky.
Then came their first look. Kaitie looked absolutely stunning. Her hair and makeup were flawless, and her dress was literally made for her! She was #BrideGoals. The second Brenden laid eyes on her, he was brought to tears. He said, “I knew she was going to be beautiful...but I had no idea she’d be THIS beautiful.” I don’t consider myself a super emotional girl, but their first look definitely had me teary-eyed. These are the special moments that having a first look allows. It’s an opportunity for private dialogue between the bride and groom where they can share real emotions all while not feeling like they’re on display in front of friends and family.
Next, we walked across the street to the historic Hanover courthouse for bridal portraits. Kaitie had the most genuine smile and laugh. I couldn’t help but love being around these two.
Their ceremony began with more tears. I’m telling you - just because you do a first look doesn’t mean your groom won’t cry again when you walk down the aisle. I loved the vows they wrote one another. They were so unique to them and their adorable relationship.
Their reception was catered by Hanover Tavern Events with a “breakfast for dinner” theme, and let me just say, BEST RECEPTION FOOD EVER. Yum! We seriously may have to take a trip back just for those fried potatoes.
Their incredible night ended with a delicious vanilla cake, lots of dancing, and tons of hugs. Kaitie and Brenden are two very special people with two extremely big hearts, and I’m so excited to see what the Lord has in store for them and their marriage.
