WOW! What a perfect fall wedding day. I have known the Armstrong family for 20 years (YIKES, I feel so old right now), and they are so near and dear to my heart. Nathan and I were so excited to be shooting at a venue so close to home. Or should I say, literally in our neighborhood. The Reserve at the Highlands and Golf Club really does make the perfect backdrop for any wedding.
Everyone was in such good spirits all day. Love, light heartedness, smiles and laughter filled the air. Once Natalie put on her final touches of makeup and Matt secured his boutonniere onto his jacket, it was time for my favorite part of every wedding - the First Look.
The glowy early evening light was beyond words. The smile and pure joy on Matt’s face when he saw his beautiful bride was absolutely priceless. This intimate time for the two of them did not disappoint. And when Natalie came down the aisle, you would have never known there was even a first look. Matt’s face was so genuine and even more enamored than the first time.
Lots of family and friends gathered to watch Matt and Natalie make their vows and promises for the rest of their lives to each other. It was such a sweet, fun and meaningful ceremony written specifically for the two of them. As soon as the knot was tied, it was time for the hoppin’ party to begin!!
When I say party, I am not even doing it justice. This high energy carried throughout the entire night. The dancing and personalized playlist was so much fun. Natalie and her adorable grandfather did the first dance together to the song “Splish Splash” and it was so darn sweet. Then, Matt and his mom stole the show with their choreographed mother/son dance. These dances were definitely the most memorable part of the reception. I kept finding myself bustin’ moves with my camera in hand.
The night was capped off with a sparkler exit to send the newlyweds on their way to their honeymoon in the Bahamas. I love this family so much and wish them nothing but the best for their bright future together.
