The Cayton Family - Maternity + Newborn

Remember that time when everyone was quarantined in their houses?! I started offering Front Porch sessions for families during the height of COVID to allow for families to still have memories even though things looked a little different, and they were super successful. I had the pleasure of photographing Devin and Daniel on their front porch in April 2020.

Devin and Daniel had recently moved to my neighborhood and we connected on our neighborhood Facebook page. Devin was pregnant at the time of their Front Porch session, but not quite ready for maternity pictures, so just a couple months later we celebrated the end of her pregnancy with some beautiful pictures of the mom and dad-to-be!

They basically have an enchanted forest in their backyard! Waterfall, pond, bridge, fish, deer and everything else imaginable - so we started on their own property before heading to a few of my favorite spots in our neighborhood. Devin was absolutely glowing!

Before I knew it, baby Samuel was born! This adorable little guy is such a heart stealer! We waited until he was about 2 months old and did his in-home newborn session. COVID changed many things for MANY people (including me), so I decided to pivot from my traditional newborn sessions in my studio and started offering them in my client’s homes in effort to make everyone feel safer. I am so glad that this happened because I fell in love with this new style of session. It is so much more intimate and meaningful to take the photos in a place that they LIVE and will grow in.

Samuel was a joy to photograph and I can’t wait to watch him grow.
