Nash's 6th Birthday!
July 2021
Our boy turned 5. We gave him the biggest birthday surprise and spent it at Disney World (see blog). He was completely overwhelmed with excitement and intrigued the entire time. He still talks about this trip like it was yesterday.
At the end of the month, we headed on our annual family trip to Myrtle Beach! He did SO well at the beach this year. Oh the independence of a 5 year old at the beach is so different from a toddler. He loved the sand and the ocean, but ultimately could’ve stayed in the pool all day if we let him.
August 2021
Kindergarten here we come! Nash started kindergarten at Cloverhill Christian Academy. He was not a fan of waking up at 6:30am but he does love school and being social. Our house was filled with stir crazy kids prior to the first day of school, so it was time!!
September 2021
We’ve gotten into the swing of school things. Nash loves school and learning. He truly is like a little sponge. We took Nash to his first Liberty football game! He loved being at “Auntie’s College!” He visited the Pumpkin patch with his afterschool care friends and was gearing up for all things Fall and Halloween!
October 2021
I would say that this is Nash’s favorite month of the year. He is OBSESSED with Halloween. He had several costumes picked out. Most are scary but he knew that he needed some friendly options for our Church and school trunk or treat. He went with Spiderman for the trunk or treats! He went as Chucky to the spooky Halloween house. The child has NEVER seen Chucky in his life but he was SO excited because of the reaction it got from other adults. After Halloween he told me that he was pretty sure that he was famous now!
A great accomplishment for October was that he was chosen as Student of the Month for his class at school. We were SO proud of him.
November 2021
It’s the start of the Christmas season and Nash is thrilled to pull out his famous Santa suit! He has already worn it more times than he should and it’s not even December 1st. Poppy has been in the hospital for the entire month and it brought Poppy tears of joy to see Nash dressed as Santa at the hospital. Santa also made an appearance at The Pendergrass grand illumination! We are so thankful to have a Christmas light show right next door! Nash has been told that he needs to give the Santa suit a break so that it’ll be rested for Christmas...this isn’t going over so well with him!
December 2021
The Santa Suit obsession continued into the Month of December. Nash celebrated Jesus’ birth at school and at home. We had a tacky sweater party…Nash wore a Tree-Rex light-up sweater. We had a great Christmas! Nash got a new soccer goal and lots of things to play outside with. After Christmas was when our Winterfest parade of visits began! This is one of Nash’s favorite things to do!
January 2022-
Winterfest continued into the new year! We visited Kings Dominion for Winterfest a few more times after the first of the year. The beginning of the year started with a bang because we got our first big snow. Unfortunately, it was the only sizable snow of the year but we took full advantage of it!
February 2022
Nash started basketball for the first time! He really enjoyed trying out a new sport and playing with his best buddy Ava. If you know Nash, you know he loves a good costume. This is when his Nacho Libre obsession began! Stretchy pants and all!
March 2022
This was the biggest month of Nash’s life. He decided to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior followed by baptism. This was such a great experience for Nash to have with his Daddy leading him to salvation. Nash was so excited to share with the world that he has chosen to follow Jesus.
April 2022
In April, McDonalds decided to start a Mario Kart happy meal theme. This is where Nash’s love of Mario began! (Spoiler alert! Followed by his 6th birthday theme!) He made a point to convince all of his grandparents to take him to Mcdonalds every chance he could to collect the Mario Karts! Nash also started playing baseball for Swift Creek Cougars! He did really well and enjoyed playing coach pitch baseball.
May 2022
Nash officially finished Kindergarten!! I can’t believe that he will be heading into first grade in the Fall. Where has the time gone? He did great this year and really thrived. I’m excited to see his reading take off even more next school year!
June 2022
Summer 2022 has begun!! We kicked off the summer by “Swimming with Erin!” Nash started a full intensive week of swimming lessons to really strengthen his swimming skills. He was timid at times but made a goal to jump off the diving board at the beginning of the week. He did it on the final day!! We can’t wait to see what other fun things are in store for the summer time!
