LeeAnn's 3rd Birthday
LeeAnn didn’t get to celebrate much of a second birthday (thanks, COVID!). So this year, I wanted to make it a point to celebrate her well and do all of her favorite things. We are on a huge Disney kick around our house, and we are planning a surprise trip to Disney in July 2021. It only made sense to have a Mickey/Minnie birthday party.
Let’s take a look back at this past year.
April 2020
The pandemic was still fresh for everyone. We didn’t leave the house much. In fact, her little party was just us in our garage. Thankfully she didn’t understand too much. This was the first time that we saw my parents (Nana and Poppy) since everything started. I distinctly remember everyone showing up in gloves and masks. All they wanted to do was hug the birthday girl.
May 2020
We were still spending every day at home. LeeAnn was getting really excited about the baby in mommy’s tummy. I was trying to keep Nash up on daily learning since schools were closed, and she wanted to join in!
June 2020
We started going out a little more in June and trying to navigate the “new normal” while also pregnant. There was still so much unknown but we wanted our kids to continue to experience their childhood.
July 2020
We celebrated Nash’s 4th birthday. This was the first time we had a big party at our house since the pandemic. LeeAnn loved seeing everyone and getting all of her “late” birthday treats since we did not get to celebrate her birthday. We also started going back to church as it had reopened. LeeAnn learned how to “sit” through service which was quite the adventure for all of us.
August 2020
LeeAnn officially became a big sister. She adored loving on her new baby brother, William and helping mommy with anything that I needed.
September 2020
LeeAnn started school for the first time. I wish I could accurately describe her excitement. She went to bed every night asking if it was school the next day. She adored her teacher, loved learning, and wearing a new outfit everyday.
October 2020
The entire month consisted of LeeAnn deciding what her Halloween costume would be. We went to Target and walked up and down every aisle. She wanted every costume she saw. Finally she landed on being a witch. Nathan got the biggest kick out of this!
November 2020
November was a pretty standard month! We were gearing up for Christmas. We were also so thankful that we could celebrate Thanksgiving “normally” with our families.
December 2020
Nash was obsessed with being dressed as Santa all month, so LeeAnn insisted on being Mrs. Claus. She wore her dress anytime that Nash had his suit on. We made gingerbread houses, went to ChristmasTown and finally got to see all of our families!
January 2021
If you know LeeAnn, you know that she seems to constantly have a “cough” or ear infections. She got tubes when she was 6 months old. One had fallen out this month and resulted in all of the infections returning. We were waiting to talk to the doctor about having surgery again.
February 2021
We had just sold our house, and things were SO busy!! However, the week of us moving out of our house; LeeAnn had surgery to remove a tube. She also got a new set of tubes (that would hopefully stay in much longer) and had her adenoids removed. The recovery went ok...but the girl had AWFUL breath for weeks! LOL - if you know you know.
March 2021
During the month of March, we were living with Nana and Poppy. This girl adores her Nana and was so happy to see her every day. She handled the crazy uncertainty of living out of suitcases so well. She also loved sharing a bed with her brother and having a “sleepover” every single night.
April 2021
We had finally moved into our new house. It was the perfect opportunity to invite everyone over to celebrate her 3rd birthday with a Mickey/Minnie birthday party. We wanted to make things extra special for our girl since the past year was one that we would have never imagined.
