When it comes to choosing the perfect backdrop for an engagement session, the blend of history, charm, and natural beauty is hard to beat. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Julian and Morgan at Historic Whitewood in Powhatan, Virginia, and it was nothing short of magical.

Historic Whitewood, a stunning estate nestled in the heart of Virginia, exudes timeless elegance. The combination of rustic charm and manicured landscapes provides countless opportunities for creating stunning images.

As we arrived, the golden hour cast a warm glow over the estate - The serene atmosphere set the perfect tone for the day!

Meet Morgan and Jake, a couple whose love radiates warmth and joy. From the moment we started the session, their chemistry was undeniable. Whether they were sharing a laugh or exchanging tender glances, every moment felt authentic and beautifully candid.

One of the best parts about Historic Whitewood is the variety of stunning locations to explore. We ventured through the fields and to the most romantic spot on the property, the pond. We finished with a fun touch! We took a few pictures with their fun car! How cute is it?? It looks like it’s right out of the movie, CARS.

As we wrapped up the session, it was clear that Emily and Jake’s love story was only just beginning. Historic Whitewood provided the perfect canvas for capturing their journey, blending history with personal moments that they will cherish forever. I can’t wait to be back in this very spot about a year from now.
